    3. Hi Maddy I have an ancestor who was transported to Australia. His name is James Tanswell, he was tried in 1830 and transported the same year on the Burrell II. He was 19years old at the time of his transportation. If you have any further information I would be eternally grateful. Cheers Robyn -----Original Message----- From: dorset-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:dorset-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Maddy Duke Sent: Monday, 6 September 2010 5:11 PM To: dorset@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [DOR] Larceny before convicted of felony Hi Beki Could you let me know the name of your ancestor. I am researching people who were transported to Australia from Dorset and would be interested to add him to my list (if he is not there already!) Kind regards Maddy Duke

    3. Hi Robyn, I have not come across James yet. I have been transcribing some prison registers (Dorchester) for the past few years but have only reached 1820. Having said that I have done some work on the Swing Riots and the perpetrators were tried and transported in 1830 but Tanswell was not amongst them. I will keep an eye out for him and let you know if/when I find anything more. Kind regards Maddy -----Original Message----- From: dorset-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:dorset-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Robyn Perrim Sent: 06 September 2010 22:25 To: dorset@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [DOR] Transported to Australia from Dorset Hi Maddy I have an ancestor who was transported to Australia.
