C395263 on the IGI (along with other STICKLEYS who all appear to be living in / around Milborne), but it is an odd batch number for Melcombe Regis so I think it has been mis allocated and maybe is a batch for Milbourne Styleham or Milborne St. Andrew) Furthermore, the Melcombe Regis baptisms 1731 - 1880 have been transcribed on the Dorset OPC site but no STRICKLEYs are listed at all!) I have also checked the baptisms for Bere Regis (as Milborne comes under the civil parish), but although there are STRICKLEYs (& variations) there aren't any that match the above. I see Levi Henry BILES b 1854 is on 1861 & 1871 census' with his parents in Milborne Stileham. I see Levi BILES entered Australia on the John Rennie from Plymouth in 1873 with his father George & siblings. Were the BILES & STICKLEY families on the same ship or did they meet up once they were in Australia? I see that Kate & Levi married in Australia. I hope this helps, Kindest Regards Vanessa (from a wet Dorset today) ----- Original Message ----- From: "Glenva" <glenva08@tpg.com.au> To: <DORSET@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, September 04, 2010 12:43 PM Subject: [DOR] Stickley family > >From genie.girl@tpg.com.au > Dear Listers, > I am researching the Stickley family of Dorset?
