    3. Dear Win, This might be him: William ELLIOTT s/o William ELLIOTT baptised on 27 April 1766 at St. Mary & St Bartholomew, Cranborne. Cranborne is an adjecent parish to Sixpenny Handley (and they are 4 miles - about 6 1/2 km apart). There is also a burial at Sixpenny Handley as follows: William ELLIOTT of Newtown (aged 42) on 28 December 1814 This would make his year of birth abt 1772 (so unless the age is incorrect, not the one above) If you think that this is the burial of your William, then Mary was also born out of wedlock, (but would still be an Elliott) as that was now her mother's name. If it is him, they weren't married for long.
