    3. Thanks very much Vanessa for your reply. I did know of this William Elliott but have not been able to confirm if he is the right one. I know that Hannah & William were married by banns on 14th of March 1814. (Page 2 Entry 5 of Sixpenny Handley Marriages). Both signed by X & witnesses were Stephen Oxford & Joseph Isaac. If this is the right William then they were only married nine months & he never lived to see his son Charles born, if in fact it was his son & not someone else's. Is there any way of knowing if this was a first marriage for William? I wonder if Hannah may have worked for William as a housekeeper & married her. Guess there are all kinds of possibilities.
