    3. Christel Eliza Ann Legge baptized Glanvilles Wootton 6 Sep 1857, same day as her older sister Virginia. They were recorded as daughters of William Legge and Elizabeth nee Kingsbury. (Source Dorset OPC, my own transcriptions). Virginia was born Jun Qtr 1856 (Dorchester), Eliza Ann Jun Qtr 1857 (Dorchester) (FreeBMD). In 1861 Virginia is recorded at home in Glanvilles Wootton with William and Elizabeth, but no sign of Eliza Ann. However there is a death recorded in Dorchester in Sep 1857 for Eliza Ann Legg. Would need to check Death Cert to find out age. There is no burial recorded in Glanvilles Wootton that matches this, so cannot be sure that this is the same Eliza Ann. If it is it does not explain the Ann Eliza recorded in nearby Holwell in 1861, recorded as daughter of Oliver Jeanes. For the Leggs of Burton Bradstock, you would expect to find them recorded in Bridport Reg District, but there is not a birth that would match Anneliza Legg at the appropriate time. Hope this helps a little Jon Baker Dorset OPC Co-ordinator -----Original Message----- By some weird chance I already have an Ann Eliza LEGG c 1858 (but born Wootton Glanville -- where I cannot find a baptism) in my tree, in 1861 she is the "daughter" of Oliver JEANES and his wife Matilda KNELL (married 1852). She has always puzzled me. I assumed she was Oliver's child from an affair/fling but that Matilda agreed to take her on, having had no children of her own -- however she is not with them subsequently. Christel
