    3. I have a Thomas Sweetnam and wife Jane who (from handed down history) lived in the Dorset/Somerset area from about 1800 to 1820. I do not have enough children listed from that time period for a normal couple so they probably had and lost some. The legend was they at they were around the Weymouth area but Weymouth records did not exist that early and they were a part of Wyke Regis who does not have a listing of an Sweetnams during that time period. Does anyone have knowledge of this family and any baptisms that may exist? By the way - they were from Warbleton, Sussex and why they were in Dorset - I have no idea - but they finally left England in 1820 to immigrate to South Africa where they died and their children came to the USA. Her daughter Ruth did not record any children born between 1803 and 1812 - and lists the others the earliest ones as "of Weymouth" and the later ones as "of Sittingbourne, Kent" but I haven't found baptisms there either. Maybe they just did not go to church!! Thanks Beverly
