Hello I am a little confused. I sent a message to Kate asking for a look-up but received a reply from Vanessa not Kate. Does this mean that Kate could not find any information but Vanessa has & I should not expect a reply from Kate? I know Kate must have been inundated with requests & I do appreciate the reply from Vanessa just feeling a bit confused. Many thanks Win

All messages addressed to the list will be read by every member. If an avid researcher gets to find an answer quicker than the person you thought might find it, I would not complain. It may be Vanessa found the answer, replied and Kate then found it but her answer would have been the same so did not duplicate the reply. She may find a different answer and post it later. Some of our members live to help one another and when I had the time I was one of them, searching out answers or possible answers to problems people could not resolve themselves. Remember, all messages are archived. since before the group began. I put it that way, because sometimes a persons computer is set with the wrong date. The message will go in the relevant years archive. I picked up on it as I have access to some of the dorset baptism / marriage / burial records including the Cranborne / Sixpenny Handley area and thought that I might be able to help.
