I do not think that anyone can look at certificates of BDM in that time frame, you have to purchase the certificate from The Registry of Birth Deaths & Marriages. Someone could look at the index for St Catherine House & get the reference number which would make the certificate cheaper & you would need the certificate to see who were the witnesses.
