Hi I have a couple of missing Emmas in my tree, in my maternal grandmothers family. My 2x g grandmother had a sister called Emma Denning born 1871 in Weymouth, in 1891 she married Edwin Hughes (she is living with her parents in 1891 census with no husband present); she is possibly the mother of the Edwin John A Hughes born later in 1891. I cannot trace her subsequently ... One of her aunts was an Emma Jane Bagg born 1853 Piddletrenthide; in 1871 she is living with her mother on Portland, she had just had an illegitimate son, William George Bagg. Most of the family moved to Wales (Crickhowell district) during 1871, and this is where her son William died later that year (so my assumption is that she probably went to Wales also, although one of her sisters had stayed in Weymouth and became my 3x g grandmother). Before 1881 (I think in 1877) her parents and brothers emigrated to Canada; her other sister stayed in Wales. Neither the Welsh nor the Canadian cousins know what happened to Emma; and I have also been unable to trace her so far ... I have another (on a different branch) called Emma Jane Mabey, born 1863 Preston, I have her in 1871 with her parents Emmanuel and Charlotte, but draw a blank after this ... Does anyone have any ideas or clues? Thanks Christel
