Hello again Richard, I think that I would apply to Dorchester firstly as according to Phillimore records for Corfe Castle are held there. As you feel they might be gentry I looked at a book I have Amigerous Ancestors to see if I could find mention of the name, there was nothing for Cull but mention of Clavill of Steple in Dorset. I then looked at my disc of the Visitations for Dorset for this Clavill family but it was a very small pedigree. I don't know if you are a member of the Somerset & Dorset Family History Society but there is the name Cull mentioned in the pedigree service. Clavill is not mentioned in this list. I think that both John Cull and Honour Clavil were of a very young age, possibly 12 or 13 years old, and their parents were classed as gentry. I am trying to obtain a copy of their Marriage Licence and allegation to determine their parentage.
