Hi Derek, Sorry for the delay. I have John WAY b. abt 1700 Tolpuddle on a side branch of my tree. My first connection is from I presume his first marriage to Mary Ann?. Their g.g. grandson William WAY (bap. 17 Oct 1824 Burleston) m. Maria SPRACKLIN (bap. 20 Jun 1819 Winterborne St Martin) 22 Mar 1851 Tolpuddle. She was a distant cousin of mine. My second connection is from I presume his second marriage to Elizabeth?. Their g. grandson Joseph WAY (bap. 30 Jun 1816 Tolpuddle) m. Susan Corish LOVELESS (his second wife) 1 Jan 1849 Tolpuddle. Her uncle was George LOVELESS, leader of the Tolpuddle Martyrs, born 9 Feb 1797 Tolpuddle, who m. another distant cousin of mine Elizabeth Snook SPRACKLEN (bap. 16 Sep 1798 Dewlish) 26 Dec 1824 Dewlish. After a chequered history they both died in London, Ontario, 6 May 1874 and 9 Mar 1868, respectively. George LOVELESS was one of at least 10 children and he and Elizabeth had at least 8, so lots of descendants. I have George's ancestors back to his g.g.g. gp John LOVELESS & Joane?, m. 1633 Hermitage but not researched by me. If you have details of John WAY's marriages I should be interested.
