If there is any kind person with the above census would you kindly look to see if a GEORGE HOCKEY b, KILMINGTON (Devon) 1817 is listed, there was also a GEORGE HOCKEY b, 1818 at YARCOMBE and this GEORGE is not the person that I am looking for, I believe that my GEORGE may have been living in DORSET, thank you for any help. Syd, You might want to look at 1851 census at George Hockey age 33 born Exminster living in St Marylebone with wife Harriet (aged 40) and visitor Sarah Spratland widow aged 79. Checking other census there is no Hockey's born Exminster but a few born Axminster (which is only 1.4 miles from Kilmington), maybe the enumerator made an error! No luck with 1861 census or a marriage of George Hockey to a Harriet. Hope that helps.
