    3. Hi again - well, I did see a marriage in 1871 for a Jane PEACH probably to a Charles PITMAN, registered in Chard. In 1871 census this may be that Jane (now PITMAN): Crewkerne Jane PITMAN 28 Married. Cook. Born Stoke Abbott, Dorset In the household of John J TIDCOMBE, a captain in the Somerset Rifles. Also in the 1871 census there is a Charles PITMAN aged 28, married but living with his parents in Crewkerne - very possibly the husband of the Jane above. He is a tailor. Perhaps a long shot but the marriage certificate might just be worth getting even just to eliminate this Jane PEACH. And there is a death reg for a 36yr old Charles PITMAN in Chard in 1878 so if this is the same Charles, she may well have remarried. Hope that helps a little.
