I have a copy of birth/baptism record indicating his father being Job Jacobs and mother listed as unknown. >From another site the mother came up as Emma. Trying to find out Job (and Emma) Jacobs origins. Possible links to Bettiscombe Dorset, or perhaps migrants from Holland/Prussia. Also there is a location "Jacobs knoll" in Stroud- does anyone know how it got its name? if there maybe a connection to my family. Thanks P.S John William Jacobs had 3 marriages and 7 kids, and also lived in Kent, and later migrated to Australia. He died in Bankstown Australia. Hello Linda, I have had a look at your request & will probably have a further look at the Baker family. The time frame of the Baker family regarding Kent & Dorset is not possible, I thought you might have made a mistake but I found the article on line & that is what it does say. Finding births & deaths of that time frame can be very difficult & will not yield much information anyway. Birth records do not necessary give the mother & there may be two males of the same name having babies at that time & without the mother you cannot be sure if you have the right one or not, I did find though on the Burial Index the burial of a Ja Baker Kent, Smarden St Michael 1567. Not all parishes are on the index though. But you could get in touch with the record office & see if this man left a will. There were Bakers in Dorset in the Tudor Subsidies 1523-1593. But this is a very common name & there were many of them on this roll. Do you have a direct male line to these families? Just something else I found interesting, did we have a Queen Elizabeth in her 26th year in 1854? Elizabeth 1st was the daughter of Henry V111 & the 2nd Elizabeth is still living! Have you looked at Documents Online? there are a number of Baker wills there. You may have to consider using a researcher, I am using one at present in Kent & Dorset as I am back a long way & finding I need their help to keep me on the right track as like you I do not live in England. I will probably get back to you. I've been in touch before with you but have got in a muddle and so am starting again! I am researching my father's family (Crouch). My great grand-father was born in Islington on 1 November 1866. He died at 7 Grand Parade Poole on 5 December 1927. His wife Clara Eleanor Wilson died at 8 Bourne Valley Road, Branksome on 10 September 1945. His son, my grandfather, also William Thomas, was born in Islington on12 July 1885. He married Dora Mary Gates at St Michael & All Angels, Bournemouth on 18 December 1809. My grandfather died at Lorne House, Church Road East Poole on 21 December 1923. Dora died at 33 Yarmouth Road, Branksome on 21 October 1968. Although any further information about them will be welcome, my particular query results from the fact that I have not found either William Thomas on the 1911 census. Can anyone help here? Bill C
Lynne, Thanks for information, most helpful. Felicia
Thank you for information - I think I probably have a lot of distant cousins I know nothing about. Felicia

Looking for information on my 4th great grandmother Mary Bledden ats Hazzard . she married Thomas Horlock on 8 Jan 1754 at Child Okeford and they had 11 children all chr at Child Okeford. Willing to share what little info I have on the Bleddens and Hazzards. thanks Sue Horlock Kryshak.
Jon, Thank you for your prompt respons. I forgot to mention I have all Coney family listed from OPC Cranborne, plus I have visited the Historical Centre in Dorchester where I transcribed info on CONEY in Cranborne. However at that time I had not expanded outside of Cranborne. I have found references to CONEY in: Wimborne St Giles Chalbury Gussage Saint Michael Edmonsham Blandford Forum Wareham Damerham, Wilts Salisbury, Wilts Ringwood, Hants (Where my family migrated from) Fordingbridge Hants. I have a huge number of CONEY believed to be relatives I am trying to consolidate. Any info on CONEY is always welcome, to fill in some of the loose ends.
