By the 1820 census he was living in Ross Township, Allegheny, Pennsylvania. He had a son named William, who then had a son named John. This is my direct line. From what I can determine Francis Dorris was born sometime between 1770 and 1780. Now I am wondering if my Dorris line ties into this one. I have just started to try and follow this line back to Ireland. Francis and his son William were both born in Ireland according to the census. They would have had to come to America sometime prior to 1810. With a search I did on the surname Dorris in Ireland, I am finding that most came from County Antrim.
