William`s brother James Harvey Dorris, moved from Tuscaloosa Co. to near Emily. Then another brother Kinchen C. Dorris who had moved to St. Francis Co., AR from Salem, KY moved to that area of MS. William Dawson Dorris, Sr`s father, Joseph Dorris, son of William Dorris the immigrant from County Down, Ireland was a well-known Primitive Baptist preacher and chaplain in Andrew Jackson`s army.
