My g-grandmother Mary Donovan Cotton was born ca. 1850, and immigrated to Chicago probably in the late 1860's. Her younger sisters, Nora Donovan Coakley, b. ca 1860, and Ellen Donovan Enright, b. ca 1862, immigrated to Chicago in the 1880s. I have no idea if they could be related to your Donovan, though.
