Hello! I am new at this and am seeking information from anyone that may be able to help. I am searching for information on John A. Donovan b. Dec. 1850 married to Ellen Morgan b. March 1859 of Pennsylvania. They had 8 children that I am aware of. They are as follows: Paul J., John F., Girtrude R., Mary M., Margret E., Loretta B., William T., and Charles M. Donovan. Cindy, Timing is good, my Thomas V. Donovan was born 1 Jan 1849 in Philadelphia, PA. Could be brothers?? He marr. Mary Ann Roberts, Children William, Grace, Buelah, Jimmy, Clementine, John Q., Ruth (My Grandmother), and Charles all born in St. Louis MO. But do not have his parents names or his siblings. I don't see any connection. If I had this line back another generation I might be able to connect with someone in Ireland I only have a great grandfather's name Thomas V. Donovan born in Penn and later moved to St Louis MO.. His father was probably born in Ireland but I have been unable to find his parents names. Maybe later we can find a connection. After a quick conversation with an elderly Uncle I was directed to the New York Times where I found a great uncle of mine, Dennis Donovan, died after being overcome by smoke inhalation. It was a fire at the Grand 5 & 10 in New York City and the date of his death was August 17, 1920. He left no wife or children, but perhaps he is a great uncle of yours too or maybe your grandmothers brother-in-law, etc., etc. Hope this info is helpful to someone. I have Donovans in my family that came from Ireland and eventually settled in Jersey City sometime in the mid to late 1880's. The names of family members are Johanna, Margaret, Ann, Catherine, Bridget, John, James and Daniel.
