    3. All I know about Jeremiah Donovan was that he was From county Cork, Ireland and came to the US in about 1881 or 1882 with his wife Julia and 2 maybe 3 children. They lived in Batavia and Aurora, ILL.     3. Ellen Donovan Driscoll and Mary Donovan Coughllin are my NB ancestors. All I have on them is they wree there in 1876 when their Ellen's daughter, Ellen married Mary's son Cornelius. Eventually, some of the descendants (LONG) moved to Cambridge. Don't know if there is any connection.

    3. HI everybody, I am seeking info on my Donovan ancestors. This is all I know about them My Gr grandfather Jeremiah Coughlin adn my gr grandmother Ellen Driscoll Coughlan both had mothers that were Donovan..His mother was Mary Donovan Coughlin, wife of John. Her mother was Ellen Donovan Driscoll, wife of Michael. I have no other info on them. I have no idea if these Donovan women were related in anyway. This info was found in the records of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception records. It was the banns of marriage record of my gr grandfather and it was dated 1876. I am looking for anyone who might know the parents of my Grandfather Zeb Donovan.His wifes name was Lillian,the childrens names were Albert,Ernest,Jim,Bill,Penny,Gene,Lester,Elaine,Sally,Phyllis .They spent most of there life in Richmond Va.but as a young man he was in Greene Co.Va. somewhere near Waltons Mountian I think.All I know is his dad was Irish and his mom was Indian. He also had a brother and a sister. Their names were Wes.and Rosetta.She later married a Floyd.

Unfortunately, I didn't find information on my ancestors, but perhaps what I did find will help someone else. On October 1, 1855, Jeremiah Donovan made his declaration of intention to become a U.S. citizen. He was illiterate and, instead of signing, made "his mark" in the record book. This is listed on page 56. On October 2, 1855, Michael Donovan declared his intention to become a citizen. He, too, was illiterate and made "his mark." Found on page 60. Found on page 89. On October 16, 1855, John Donovan declared his intention to become a citizen. Like the others, he was illiterate and made his mark. Found on page 151. On October 25, 1855, Timothy Donovan declared. He made his mark. Found on page 459. On July 17, 1856, Margaret Donovan, wife of John, declared. She was literate and signed her name, spelling it 'Margret Donovan." Found on page 541.
