I've been doing my own research for about 12 years and lots of my information has come from Familysearch. My wife and I converted to Latter Day Saints, last Easter, and I have been involved with the Family History Centers as part of my own personal calling. The resources are quite impressive and you do not have to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-day Saints to access the information. The Family History Centers welcome all people and have consultants to help you every step along the way. If you have not used Familysearch, try it. John, My personal experience with the LDS members and Family History Center in Baton Rouge has always been a VERY positive experience. The staff goes out of their way to be helpful. And I am not a member of LDS.
