Hi All, Here are the surnames I am researching in Donegal. So far, the only townland I have found my folks is in Lettermackaward . Anyone else researching there? Maurice Cannon b.1781 d. 1881 in Lettermackaward. His wife was Mary "Bridget" O'Donnell b. ca1830. I believe this was his second wife and that his first wife was Hannah McKelvey. This is based on death certificates for several of his children, who have listed different mothers and there is a big time span between the first child's birth and the 3rd child. One was born in 1840, then 1841 and then 1847. They had the following children: 1. James b. 1840 married Anne McGeehan-remained in Bellanaboy, Lettermackaward 2. John b. 1841 came to the USA 3. William b. 1847 came to the USA died in PA... lists Hannah McKelvey as mother 4. Charles b. January 1855 (my ggranddad) came to USA Hazleton, PA lists Bridget O'Donnell as mother-married Ellen McMenamin 5. William b. January 1860 came to the USA Hazleton, PA lists Bridget O'Donnell as mother-married Celia Kelly 6. Patrick b. 1861 married Anne Sweeney remained in Bellanaboy 7. Mary b. March 16,1870 came to the USA died in PA. never married There may be other children, but these are the ones I have been able to locate so far as belonging to Maurice. I thought it a bit unusual that there would be two sons named William. I have speculated that it may have been because Maurice had two different wives.
