Am looking for my maternal grandparents' families. My grandfather: James Joseph Dimond b. abt. 1895 MI - - the beautiful handwriting on my mother's b. certificate says "Alphrua, MI" - - but there is no such place--may be Alpena. Don't know where his parents came from or who they are, but they didn't come from the US, as far as I can tell. He died in NJ in abt. 1926--and that's all the info I have. Can't find him in the census anywhere. My grandmother was: Grace Elizabeth McClelland. She was b. 7/3/1899 NYC - - parents, Bernadine Winier of NYC and William McClelland of Londonderry, IRE. He was b. 1871 or 1872--found in a Mormon record of the Irish Birth Registry. His parents were John McClelland and Mary McCool. He died in NJ. Can't find any other records on him.
