I know this doesn't really help in a practical money sense but an easy way to avoid the extortionate currency conversion charges is to pay a gift token to somewhere like Amazon. There are no charges and Lindel could use the gift for books or other items. She does like her books. I have no connection with Amazon, by the way. Rachel
