Just checked my mail to find news of Lindel's illness. Lindel has been an immense help to all of us with site etc. May I echo Carol Queen's message to her with the knowledge that the Doctor's hands are guided by God in helping her recover her strength and that we are all thinking of her and her family at this time. Just keep thinking of the lovely times you have had Lindel and that I am sure will help you get better and knowing you are in everyone's thoughts and prayers. Take care Lindel Eleanor Wright from Manchester, England, researching McElhinney, Speer, Hay in Donegal.
Hi all, Many thanks to Anna who flew down to Christchurch to be with Lindel at this time. An update received from her is passed on to you all. Looking better from where I sit than it did a week ago. Report as at Saturday at 5 PM -- Bill Spillane Hello All (again) I saw Lindel this afternoon. She had been out from the hospital for a few hours with Don, the boys and Merle. She was really tired from the outing. The diagnosis seems to be pericarditis (as Merle told us all in an earlier email), with pneumonia from the collapsed lung. The condition is known as Dressler's syndrome, and is treated with steroid therapy. The steroids kick-in quite quickly and she has had a couple of days without the level of pain that she has had, but she still has a degree of pain. She said they have told her she does not have a pulmonary embolism, which is exceedingly good news. She says thanks for all your warm wishes and prayers, and to say thanks to all those on the mailing list for their good wishes and prayers too. I'll be going back to see her tomorrow, and will probably see her each day this week. She didn't seem to think that she would be heading home to Kaikoura until next weekend. Will keep you all informed Regards Anna
