    3. I posted a similar message last year with no response, so I'll try again. I have Nancy, or Ann Clark born Donegal 1804-1805. Parents were Robert Clark and Margaret Clark, maiden surname apparantly also Clark. Sometime Nancy/Ann married James Elliott, probably in Donegal. First 3 children born Donegal, Margaret 1829,Stephen 1833, Jane 1835. Then 3 sons born Glasgow, Scotland, James 1837, Robert 1841, finally Joseph Stopford Elliott 1848.Son James above, was likely a member of the 78th Regiment of the Seaforth Highlander in 1854. Nancy was shown as Nancy on Glasgow 1851 census. Subsequent censuses and death certificate showed her name as Ann. She lived in Glasgow area until age 92. Her husband, James Elliott was deceased by 1851 census. Note unusual middle name of final child, "Stopford". Based on later generations, family was probably Protestant. Other Irish names connected with this family are Neil, St. John and Darroch. If anyone can suggest where I can search for this family's Donegal roots, I would appreciate it.
