My paternal grandfather, Patrick, was born to John Magee and Catherine Herron on November 11, 1860 in Co. Donegal most likely in the Stranorlar/Ballykergan area. Patreick emigrated to USA(Philadelphia) in 188o and ihn 1889 married Ellen Ann McGlynn(her parents were Donald McGlynn and Mary ?) Patrick had siblings,viz. ROSE b. 1854(she never married) died in Philadelphia in 1946. My father, John Gallagher, had relatives named Herron who lived in Ballybofey, the twin town with Stranorlar. An uncle Mickey Herron, Donald, Mary; Martin Herron who lived in Donegal St. Ballybofey, and a Francis Herron from Magus, who lived at the Hotel Ballybofey.
