I have used them once but the result was a green image and not that clear, but that could have been the model used and I don't remember what make it was. If anyone has used a digital camera with positive results, what camera, make and model was used? Is it necessary to use a flash? I am considering purchasing a digital camera, one of the prime reasons is taking images of the films. The present method of reading the films, transcribing the data to paper, back to an Excel spreadsheet is very time consuming and tiresome. I hear that a few FHC's have a reader with a printer attached, our center has a number of film viewers but one must transfer the film to the viewer and make a print out for each frame. A very expensive method if one wants to extract all listings of a given surname for each year. If it were O'Donnell or a similar name a person would be broke long before they finished the task. Any suggestions? Bob Cdn.
