The same goes for the adjacent townland of Island Roy Barr (which name may somehow account for the cryptic "Highglen Island" placename). Highglen's 800 acres are centered high in the mountains, 3 miles (by bird - no roads there) WNW of Milford town. That takes care of the "high" part of the townland name. The "glen" portion probably refers to the eastern boundary of the townland, the Loughnacreaght Burn. The other boundaries of the townland are difficult to ascertain, as they don't appear to use streams or easily-identifiable topographical features for borders. There are two lone buildings (perhaps booleys) shown near the NW of the townland, but I really believe that they lie within the townland of Meenformal, to the west. That's about all I have.
