If you belong to the Donegal-L List, you'll be reading this twice, I submitted a similar Post to that List hoping to reach interested researchers in the Donegal area. Have long been researching the name MURRAY in Campsie, Stirlingshire, Scotland. The line I'm interested in came from Donegal about 1846 according to the death record of Rachael MORROW whose family had become MURRAYs after the move to Campsie. It was noted on her 1855 death Registration that she was born Killymard, Ireland and was 49 years old when she died. All her children were named which was a boon to my research on this family. I've recently downloaded a Death Registration for a MURRAY who died in Campsie in 1923. Listed his birthplace in the 1901 Census as Donegal. His name was David MURRAY, head, married, age 56, a Chemical Works Labourer born Donegal, Ireland. Catherine [DEVLIN] was his wife, age -5 [line obscures first digit] also born Donegal, Ireland. I'd hoped his parents would be Edward MORROW and Rachel MORROW [married name same as maiden name] but David's parents were David MURRAY and Helen McCORMACK who were both already deceased. He was the widower of Catherine DEVLIN [meaning she pre-deceased him], he died April 14, 1923 at 1 Well Lane, Lennoxtown, Campsie, Stirlingshire aged 79y of Senile Decay. Informant was Wm HANNIGAN, Son-in-law. The 1901 Census had his family as Sarah, age -5 [line obscures first digit] born Lennnoxtown, Stirlingshire. David, son, 20 born same, Michael DEVLIN, 49, Brother in law born Stirlingshire and Denis McCAHILL, 8, Grandson born Stirlingshire, Lennoxtown. Sorry its not the line I wanted, but this man belongs to someone with roots in Donegal... Meg Greenwood / Oklahoma USA
