    1. Re: [DONEGALEIRE] Town
    2. Hello Lindel and all I am researching Duffys: William Duffy and Rose McMonagle had following children: Bridget, Ann, Isabell,Mary, Frank and Hugh. Frank was my Greatgrandfather and lived in Baltimore, Maryland. His date of birth Aug. 25, 1854 and family tradition says they came from Donegal. I don't have anything but names for the siblings. Looking at the 1900 census it lists date of immigration as 1856. The 1910 census list date of immigration as 1865 so I am not sure exactly when his family came to the U.S. but he would have been young. They had cousins that lived in Delware, so when I exhausted all my resources in Maryland, I turned to Delaware and found a William and Rose Duffy living in New Castle-the town where the cousins also lived, with an infant son named William. A William was not listed in my family notes but perhaps he died an infant. This may not be my William since no other children are listed as living there with them at the time of the census in 1860 Anyway, to cut a long story short, I have gone over a lot of census' doing research on a Graham line these last few years and it is always the country of birth that is listed. However, in this case, the census taker had entered Mt. Pl. instead of a country. I thought it was worth a shot since I am new to Irish research and have so little to go on. Thanks for any ideas that might help! Delia
