I have just discovered that an Irish ancestor was married to a daughter of William JOHNSTON and Frances LONE/LOVE. Witnesses to the marriage of George J. ELLIOTT to Emily JOHNSTON in 1916 in Toronto, Canada were Samuel HILLIARD and Emily IRVINE. What is most interesting is that Samuel Hilliard may have been a cousin of George Elliott's in Pettigo (or nearby). Samuel Hilliard and Emily Irvine later married in 1916, a few months after their friends' marriage. If anyone has any connetions, grave inscriptions, suggestions - I would really appreciate it.
