    3. There was at least one Travers in Ballintra twenty years ago when I was last there. Josie Travers who lived across the road from my grandmother. Her sister, Mary Travers, was the first girl I ever kissed, when I was about sixteen in 1954. Also I think I remember the name McGonigal from the time that I spent my summer holidays in Ballintra so long ago Patrick in sunny Sydney ----- Original Message ----- From: "Frank McGonigal" <[email protected]> To: "IRL-Donegaleire-L" <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, December 22, 2008 3:46 AM Subject: Re: [DONEGALEIRE] Travis > My wifes inlaw has TRAVERS from Ballintra....Elizabeth Travers b.1865 > married a Crawford. > Her father was John Travers I believe. > I'm only quoting from my notes etc.,but I could probably get more info if > necessary and relevant. > > Frank McGonigal Ont.Canada > ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "hiflyte" <[email protected]> > To: "IRL-Donegaleire-L" <[email protected]> > Sent: Sunday, December 21, 2008 10:57 AM > Subject: Re: [DONEGALEIRE] Travis > > >> Nan, >> Did a few checks with no luck >> Griffiths Valuation does not list any Travis surnames for Donegal >> The LDS/FHC/BIVRI2 files do not list any Travis surnames for Donegal >> either birth or marriage. >> >> Found Traverse - Travers at Bobs and Tithes at Lindels >> ................................................ >> One way would be to check the Birth Index films at your local FHC and >> see if you can find the surname in Donegal for those years. >> I do not know of a site for Travis in Donegal >> There is a TRAVIS mailing list on Rootsweb (RW) that you should check out >> http://lists.rootsweb.ancestry.com/index/surname/t/travis.html >> and a TRAVIS Message board at RW >> http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.travis/mb.ashx >> >> Visit the following websites and take a look: >> Bobs: >> http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~hiflyte/research/projects.htm >> Lindels: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~donegal/ >> Caroles: >> http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~donegaleire/Doncontent.html >> >> Sorry not much help with Travis in Donegal >> Merry Christmas >> Bob >> Cdn >> ======================================= >> >> Nan wrote: <SNIP> ....I am searching for information on Peter Travis >> farther of Bridget Travis Mullen. He came from Donegal the time period >> might be mid 1800's.... >> ================================ >> When replying to a digest post, quote only the specific text to which you >> are replying, removing the rest of the digest from your reply.
