Another URL that may interest those doing research in Alberta Canada Index to Alberta Homestead Records 1870 - 1930 http://abgensoc.ca/homestead/index.htm Many Irish as did other nationalities came to the western territories/provinces and Alberta Canada was one of them. Land was plentiful and title was given to those who would work and build on the property over a three year period. My art class instructors family were one of those who obtained land in the 1890s and held the land till a large power project (1960) ate up all the surrounding properties. Expansion gets us all is some form or another. As a note many immigrants moved up to Alberta from the USA territories e.g. Montana, North Dakota around the turn of the century. Never hurts to look at the database, your lost relations maybe in it. (it is an Index) Database was a 2005 Centennial project for the province of Alberta Bob Cdn ========================================
