Last summer, my cousin (who lives in Donegal) flew from an airport in Mayo into Boston on a new airline - Globe Span. At the time, Globe Span had opened ports in Boston & New York City. It's a discount airline, much like SouthWest Airlines. They don't seem to fly in/out of Boston/NYC any more, but they do travel to Orlando, Toronto & Vancouver. Might save you some money for more fun things in Ireland. Hi Jane, Assuming Michelle is in the USA, I'm afraid Flyglobespan are no longer serving the US from Ireland - with one exception - Orlando. They are a Scottish-based airline and used to fly through Knock Airport in Mayo. They do still fly to Canada - Vancouver, Toronto and Calgary from Dublin or Belfast. Many budget airlines are fantastic, but I'm afraid however that from a personal point of view Globesapn would be the last airline I'd fly transatlantic with. In their first months of operating to the East Coast passengers experienced some horrendous delays - in one notorious case passengers were left stranded in JFK for more than 2 days.....have a look at comments in these Forums:- http://www.airlinequality.com/Forum/flygspan.htm http://www.airliners.net/aviation-forums/general_aviation/read.main/3486247/ In the interests of surviving these trouble times, Aer Lingus have in recent times moved somewhat towards the Budget airline model, but have always maintained in my opinion a good to excellent service, with fairly competitive pricing. This is just a personal opinion from someone who uses them fairly regularly on the Dublin - Boston route - I have no vested interest......but I would be very, very wary of Globespan. The main US Airlines operate regular services to/from Dublin - Continental, United, Delta, US Airways and American. Regards, and have a wonderful holiday when you finally make the trip Michelle, John > From: [email protected] > To: [email protected]; [email protected] > Date: Sat, 4 Oct 2008 11:44:34 -0400 > Subject: Re: [DONEGALEIRE] lfuture trip to Ireland with children > > > Last summer, my cousin (who lives in Donegal) flew from an airport in Mayo into Boston on a new airline - Globe Span.
