Is there anyone on the list researching the above names from those areas? My Grandmother came from Ballyhillion, Malin Head, but I can't find my Great Grandfather's brothers except for two of them. When last in Malin Head, Roddy the Jammer Doherty said that that when looking at the Griffith's Valuation and where our house is located that we must be part of the Cahir Dohertys and that two Cahir brothers moved over to West Town. Roddy said that one brohter was James Doherty and became known as the Babbys and that the other brother John, who moved to West Town was John and he became known as Briny. I am not certain about the connection but want to see if anyone on the list is connected to either one of these Dohertys. Hopefully then I can compare notes. There is also a James Doherty who was godfather to two of my great aunts and I haven't been able to locate him. Also does anyone know if the Ard Breac Dohertys of Slievbawn are related to the West Town Dohertys. Jim Doherty of Florida who is an Ard Breac Doherty is a cousin - his grandfather and my grandmother were first cousins. Great Grandfather Patrick Doherty also had a brother Denis who went to America, first to Braddock, Pennsylvania then Anaconda, Montana , then Los Angeles then to Vacville, California.
