I would fly into Shannon. You drive north to Donegal. What a wonderful drive and you will see some of the best sites ever. I do know you could hire a limo service to drive you around. The best prices are the B &B and may work better for children as they would have a real home feeling. I would first tell them you have children, though. Dear Listers what a wonderful group of people you are!!! I am very appreciative of all the information in the responses. Well this is what we are thinking at this time: it might work best to rent a cottage for a week or 2 at a time. Shouldn't that save money compared to staying in one room in a hotel every night??? That is how it is here in the eastern US. Please let me know about that one! your suggestions are very welcome. Our main goal to to check out county Donegal and Tipperary town in Co. Tipperary. >From what we have been told so far - it looks like the first night will probably be spent in Dublin. Yes, I will be traveling from the US. We are trying to make it a family reunion - with one of my daughters & her children who lives on the West coast. We should know with in the month if we will be able to make this trip. Planning, getting all the details and costs are more stressful than the trips! Also - is it more expensive to get 2 taxis or rent 2 cars?? Thanks again Michelle
