Or the ones, accompanied by a detailed map sketched in your notebook, that tell you to drive through town, turn right, then left then ask someone else for further directions (lest you get confused); but before you get to town you see a sign to your destination (pointing left). Throwing caution to the wind in this situation, we followed the sign and got to our destination. Goodness knows what interesting things we missed out on by not following the directions but as we had just spent 26 hours in transit and had one thing on our agenda for our first day we weren't in the right frame of mind to take the chance. I loved Ireland! I wish I still had that hand drawn map.
