    3. A few years ago I was fortunate to have a whole month to drive all over Ireland. What was scary for me, on a very misty day, was following all the cars and tourist buses going anti-clockwise around "The Ring of Kerry" when we met one lone car coming the other way on the wrong side of the road. After all the miles we drove around Ireland, we agreed that the scenery in Donegal is the most spectacular and wondered why we hear about all the other places, but not about Donegal. Maureen in Sydney ----- Original Message ----- From: "JGallagher" <[email protected]> I must say that getting lost wasn't scary for me but driving on the left side of the road, from the right side of the car, in a standard shift car, then coming to a round a bout and not knowing where to get off almost did me in. After a few 'oops' and a few arguments with my husband we finally got the gist. Luckily we had a pint waiting on us in Glendowan to smooth our ruffled feathers. :-) Jerry Lou

    3. Shush !! We don't want everyone to know about how beautiful Donegal is, everyone will want to go there and the place will be too crowded for us. 3. Congratulations on actually seeing the Ring of Kerry. The day Mum & I did the Dingle Peninsular it was shrouded in fog. Mum still hasn't seen Connor Pass (that was her second attempt). But it was interesting none the less, and very atmospheric. We were told the Ring of Kerry was the same that day. Donegal was great, especially Donegal town and the friendly locals. The guided tour of the castle was one of the best we did anywhere but the fellow we asked directions from was also one of the highlights. Ended up giving him a lift (he assured us he wasn't a murderer). The hostel we stayed in was also great. Only disappointment was not actually finding any genealogical information, but still worth going back. A very nice town.
