For instance, seamen from Sweden, Germany, Holland, Finland, etc. Also there are many 'vessels' where the Master's wife and/or children were aboard, so if you can't find people that you just KNOW were alive at the time of the Census, you might find them here. A lot of work was put into these files by the transcribers extracting each from the main census. The 1881 Census contains details of many ships in UK ports. These records are useful for tracing seamen and passengers coming into or going out of the country.
