Not sure if anyone is headed for London in the next few months, but they evidently do have a lot of films on Donegal on the shelves at the London Family History Centre. Here is a link for films on Donegal : http://www.londonfhc.org/catalogue.php?c=7&p=Ireland,Ireland,Donegal You can get to the FHC homepage from there to find other places. Here is the link : http://www.londonfhc.org/index.php I'd not known they held such a massive collection for Donegal. Its got to be easier and less expensive to go there personally or find a researcher to look at these films than to find one in Ireland to look locally. Finding a researcher in Ireland is one probem I continue to hear about in the Lists. Since I don't live in England, its still a problem for me to get there quickly after robbing a bank to buy plane tickets.... So I order films. These films are the same as can be ordered into any Family History Center. The ones in the London FHC are very clearly marked as to their contents and are arranged regionally. FHCs have a more obscure method of labelling and some can't be easily found. Using Keyword Search has helped me search the LDS film catalog rather than Place Search but I still have to use both since my spelling for a townland may differ than theirs by one letter. It must be exact to be found in their catalog search. [I call it the Go Fish method of searching.....its a child's card game - Do you have any 7s ??? No, Go Fish ! So a card is drawn from the pile. Do you have any Polnaranny ??? No, Go Fish....get another film. If you'd asked about Pollnaranny with 2 Ls, you'd have gotten hits]. Has anyone looked at any of this huge batch of films ??? At the very least, it can be seen what's available in the collection. I've got some of these films at the local FHC, but see a few others I can order. Must again check the sofa cushions for coins....
