Wm M'Monagle and C M'Monagle his mother from Leckpatrick, County Tyrone, plus Mary M'Monagle and her son James (one child lost) from Taughboyne, County Donegal, were survivors from the Brig DISPATCH (maybe Despatch) from Londonderry which sailed for Quebec on 29th May 1828 and was wrecked on a rock off Newfoundland. They were eventually taken to Halifax by HMS Tyne arriving there on 26th July 1828. (From The Ships Lists). It would be interesting to know whether anyone claims to be a relative of those lucky survivors.
Ian Thank you for letting us know of this ship. Just looked at those who were lost and those who survived.
