Good suggestion Ray. Many years ago I checked the New York Times and found the arrival of the ship of my GG Grandparents from Donegal in 1852. I learned that they traveled in the 2nd cabin. There were also some interesting details, such as seeing icebergs. I found the microfilm of the NY Times at the library of a rather small college, so it's probably available many places. (Apologies for cross-postings) The makers of my Legacy genealogy program, send out regular newsletters. This page is a link to a hint in their most recent newsletter. Although it is written for an american audience; the same process might also be available to researchers in other countries which were regular destinations for emigrants. http://news.legacyfamilytree.com/legacy_news/2011/07/did-you-know-newspapers-printed-passenger-lists.html Good luck with it. ray in oz ------------------------------ To contact the DONEGALEIRE list administrator, send an email to DONEGALEIRE-admin@rootsweb.com.
