Found the marriage in the church records in Ballintra. Joseph and Elizabeth married in October 1844, although he is listed a MCCLEA. The witnesses were Hooey and McClay who are both resident in Trumman East. Found Joseph on the GV as living in Trumman East, Laghy, Donegal. Can trace the family this way its going back thats the problem. There are several MCCLAYS listed in Trumman East so I feel sure that they must be related along the line somewhere can tie some of the others together but Joseph remains out in the cold. Thomas Connolly was the landlord and I hoped that there would be old leases or reference to tenants amonst his papers which are held at both Proni and in Dublin.
