    3. Hello All, I haven't done much on the family tree lately but I noticed the LDS Family Search pilot mentioned again by Ray. Thought I'd give it a go and within a few minutes I'd confirmed the dates of my gg-grandfather and his father too. Thanks Ray. For those of you stuck like me, give it a go. Rob Doragh Liverpool UK you can search the Irish BDM indexes which the Mormon's have so kindly now placed free online for us, here: https://www.familysearch.org/s/collection/show#uri=http://search-api:8080/searchapi/search/collection/1408347 This link provides more information about them: https://wiki.familysearch.org/en/Ireland_Civil_Registration_Indexes Good Luck. ray in oz

    3. Decided to take Rob's advice and have another go, and lo and behold, found the death registration for my gg grandfather, which I did not think even existed. Seems previously, I was making the mistake of looking in the parish instead of the PLU. Pays to read the instructions! Still no record of his son's marriage in 1871 in the same PLU, so guess those did not make it to the registrar's office, although I have seen the record in the actual parish register. "If at once you don't succeed, try and try again" as the old saying goes. Thanks be to both Rob and Ray!
