Hi I have read with interest these e-mails as I seem to have been chasing my tail for years. I have managed totrace both maternal and paternal sides of the family back to c1840 and then I hit the brickwall. My family comes from Trumman East, Laghy, co. Donegal Tried all the obvious Parish records, LDS, have purchased various bdm's, got the Drumhomne graveyard book, GV. There are only main landlords in the Tithe applotment books. Had assistance from Margaret Grahem re Laghy church records. looking for suggestions on the not so obvious. The Landlord was Thomas Connelly and I understand that there are papers at Proni has anyone looked at these papers or done this sort of research ? would it be better to get a professional or go to Proni oneself? or should it be Dublin.
