    1. Re: [DONEGALEIRE] Slievebann Farrens
    2. Thanks, PJ and Eva and Michael and everyone else. Slievebann is undoubtedly in the townland of Ardmalin. Ballygorman townland is right next door so they would know each other well but I think that Slievebann would be considered a different place from Ballygorman. Both are also small hamlets or chachans and would probably see themselves as being different places even though they are probably less than half a mile apart. Thank you especially to Michael who sent me this link to these amazing maps. They will make genealogy so much easier and were new to me so I am passing them on in case they are new to anyone else: http://maps.osi.ie/publicviewer/#V1,591271,743300,0,10 Boyd Gray http://familytrees.genopro.com/boydgray26/Boyd/default.htm http://www.westulstergenealogy.com/ http://preview.tinyurl.com/yk7gckr -----Original Message----- From: PJ [mailto:solas@gofree.indigo.ie] Sent: 10 March 2011 19:03 To: boydgray26@utvinternet.com; DONEGALEIRE@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [DONEGALEIRE] Slievebann Farrens Boyd, Look again at Lindel's site, but look for Slieve Ban. (Sliabh Bán, meaning white mountain). It is probably Slievebawn on the Google map. "At Portmore, near Slieve Ban, a pier and harbour are being constructed, at the expense of Capt. Hart, to whom the property of Malin Head belongs."
