    3. Hi I'm researching a Bryan McGonigal/McGonigle for a new contact who is said to have been born in Lagboy near Tamney in Donegal. Bryan was born 1885-1888 and went to USA in 1905,I have a copy of the passenger list with him on it. He had siblings James,Patrick,Neal (Niall) Kathleen and Grace. Most went to USA but Neal/Niall stayed behind. I've searched the 1901 census but can't find this family, but I did find a Coningley family that looks similar..I know it's stretching it a lot but could there have been a name change ?. Bryans parents COULD have been James McGonigal and Elizabeth McMenemin (sp.) Or his mothers first name could be Rose,(hard to decipher) according to a Reg.Card in USA. Anyway my new contact is having one of her McGonigal brothers do a YDNA test to see how closely we are related. We will probably have a common ancestor,..maybe distant..but hopefully quite close. Thanks Frank McGonigal Ont.Canada.

    3. Frank, McGonigal, McGonigle, McConigly, McCunnigle . Did a check of the BIVRI2 data for your surnames in the area mentioned, no luck. As you know it is only a small sampling of what the LDS hold. You can see what names are living in the area via the GV data on my website, which are linked to "Valuation of Tennements" pages by clicking the right hand column link. Also checked the LDS site for the names but none match, maybe a look at the FHC Index files for 1885 time frame would produce results, you should have all these films in-house at the local branch -- (assuming) Hope the weather is better in the TO area than what we are having out here in AB, cold, rain and they even had snow up in the North west corner Global warming is sure affecting us all. Have a nice day, Bob =================== On 04/06/2011 9:36 PM, Frank McGonigal wrote: <SNIP>...HiI'm researching a Bryan McGonigal/McGonigle for a new contact who is said to have been born in Lagboy near Tamney in Donegal.
