Hi Frank, Lagboy, or Legboy, as it appears to be on the modern OS Map, is in the townland of Ballymagahy Mountain, Ballymagahy North or Ballymagahy South. Not sure which but a quick search of the Failteromhat GV for Clondavaddog Parish shows NO McGonigals/McGonigles and NO Coningleys either in the entire parish. However, there ARE people called McConigly and McCunnigle, which as far as I am concerned, is the same name as McGonigle. And if you anglicise it you end up with Coningley. There are no similar names in any of the Ballymagaheys but there are the following: Mc Conigly Andrew Faltybanes Clondavaddog Donegal Mc Conigly Grace Balloor Clondavaddog Donegal Mc Conigly Henry Faltybanes Clondavaddog Donegal Mc Conigly John Balloor Clondavaddog Donegal Mc Conigly John Faltybanes Clondavaddog Donegal Mc Conigly Patrick Balloor Clondavaddog Donegal Mc Conigly Patrick Glinsk Clondavaddog Donegal Mc Cunnigle Charles Magheradrumman Clondavaddog Donegal Mc Cunnigle Dominick Fallaneas Clondavaddog Donegal Mc Cunnigle Francis Ballincrick and Ballynabrocky Clondavaddog Donegal Mc Cunnigle Francis Cooladerry Mountain Clondavaddog Donegal Mc Cunnigle John Kinnalough Clondavaddog Donegal Mc Cunnigle John Rinmore Clondavaddog Donegal Mc Cunnigle Patrick Magheradrumman Clondavaddog Donegal Mc Cunnigle Thomas Cooladerry Mountain Clondavaddog Donegal I am sure if you use Bob Hilchey's maps you will find that some of these townlands is only a schugh away from the Ballymagaheys. No McMenemins in Clondavaddog either; the closest are: Minahan John Ballynalost Clondavaddog Donegal Minahan John Kinnalough Clondavaddog Donegal Minahan Owen Tullynadall Clondavaddog Donegal Minnan James Laddan Clondavaddog Donegal Minnan John Laddan Clondavaddog Donegal Frank, if you want to send me the Reg Card off-List, I am happy to have a wee duke at it to see if I can make it out. Bryan was born 1885-1888 and went to USA in 1905,I have a copy of the passenger list with him on it. He had siblings James,Patrick,Neal (Niall) Kathleen and Grace. Most went to USA but Neal/Niall stayed behind. I've searched the 1901 census but can't find this family, but I did find a Coningley family that looks similar..I know it's stretching it a lot but could there have been a name change ?. Bryans parents COULD have been James McGonigal and Elizabeth McMenemin (sp.) Or his mothers first name could be Rose,(hard to decipher) according to a Reg.Card in USA. Anyway my new contact is having one of her McGonigal brothers do a YDNA test to see how closely we are related. We will probably have a common ancestor,..maybe distant..but hopefully quite close.
