Hi all, I posted a lot of info on these "new" databases on the CoTyroneIreland list earlier today -- see the archives of that list for the full details. The short version is, of the 7 "new" databases Ancestry announced, 4 are copied from the LDS site (FamilySearch.org - free) and the 3 "RC parish records" are predominantly Meath, some also have a bunch of Roscommon, and the rest of the data in the databases is not explained (no counties / parishes mentioned in the source notes), so I'm guessing is "scattered." Chances are, there are few (if any) Donegal records. I don't know where the 3 RC register databases came from originally, but I doubt it's a new extraction by Ancestry. Maybe it's a subset of the IGI? The BVRI2? Some other group's extractions? The only source info says "National Library of Ireland" but clearly (from news reports of the NLI being upset) Ancestry did not do this in conjunction with the NLI. Since the other 4 were merely repackaging of existing databases, I'm guessing these 3 were, too. So, Bob, chances are, you've already searched this in another incarnation on (an)other site(s) and that's why you haven't found anything new. Hope that helps. Claire K.
