    3. Hi all, Can anyone tell me in which Civil Parish these townlands are found? I have checked the 1851 Townland Index, townlands in poor law unions, and assorted web sites but can't locate them. The district is Malin. Nancy

    3. Nancy, IreAtlas is the best place to do a search for Townlands http://www.leitrim-roscommon.com/cgi-bin/iresrch and Bob Hilchey's site for Parish Twonlands data. http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~bhilchey/DonegalMain.html#Civil%20Parish%20Map Slieveban and Carnmalin Can not find Carnmalin or anything close Slieveban doesn't show up but Slievebuck does I also check my GV data, they did not show up. Maybe if the surname was included, then check Griffith's Valuation for that surname it would at least give an indication where they are located. GV data can be viewed at the Surname page: http://tinyurl.com/6cp4x49 Best I can do at this time. 2. I'll second that, Ray. Thanks, Bob. It was fascinating to learn just what was included in Beta and what was not, and what happened to the IGI and why: "Well, kind readers, in six articles I have given the long answer to a short question. Let me wrap up with a single sentence summary. Member submissions went to NFS and extractions went to Historical Record Collections. That is where the IGI went." I tried to register for the NFS as I already have a registration for LDS films but it is not available to me yet. Anyone else able to access it? I also took three separate favourites for each of the BMD Ireland sites which should prove useful. (Btw, the tinyurl goes to the wrong place.) 3. Not positive about access to the New FS site but I believe it will come to us all shortly. I do have a NORMAL FS account and a FORUM account which were combined about a week back by the LDS/FS management. They are slowly bringing all their resources into one website with one sign-in. Here is the notification block when I attempted to sign-in to the "NEW FS" site. * **Your account is not ready for new.familysearch.org. Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. You will be informed by your priesthood leaders when your area can use the system. Members should use their LDS Account. Volunteers who previously used new.familysearch.org. Click here to combine your previous and new accounts. General public. Look for a future announcement when you will have access to new.familysearch.org.
